Static vs. Dynamic

When creating a QR code, you have two choices: Static or Dynamic. Making the wrong choice can ruin your marketing campaign. Here is the difference.

1. Static QR Codes (The "Forever" Code)

How it works: The data (like a URL) is hard-coded directly into the image pattern.

  • Pros: Free forever, no expiration.
  • Cons: You cannot change the link later. If you print 10,000 flyers and the link is wrong, you have to reprint everything. You also get no analytics.

2. Dynamic QR Codes (The "Smart" Code)

How it works: The QR points to a short URL on our server, which then redirects to your destination.

  • Pros: Editable: Change the destination anytime without reprinting.
  • Pros: Analytics: See how many people scanned, from which city, and what device they used.
  • Pros: Safety: Perfect for marketing campaigns.

Verdict

For WiFi passwords or simple text, use Static. For marketing, menus, or business cards, Dynamic is the only safe choice.
